How to report a leak

If the leak is minor, call either City Hall or Public Works during normal business hours to report the leak. Public Works cannot work on water leaks on the customer side of the water meter. You will need to call a plumber to deal with leaks on the customer side of the water meter.

If a water main breaks and water is gushing, call City Hall, 503-749-2030, during normal business hours M-F from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Outside of normal business hours call the police non-emergency number and dispatch will let Public Works know about the leak, 503-749-2188.

After hours contact is only for major emergencies such as a broken water main. This number is police dispatch after hours, they will collect your information and contact Public Works.

Shut-offs will not be reconnected until the next business day.

For non-emergency concerns, call the regular Public Works number above and leave a message. Someone will contact you within two business days.
