Planning Commission FAQs

What does the Planning Commission do? 

The Planning Commission is a committee based on local citizens and business owners. They review applications for land use changes and make decisions on those applications based on the content of our development codes. They are a quasi-judicial body. They are an advisory body on legislative actions to the City Council. 

When does the Planning Commission meet? 

They meet on an as-needed basis, generally the 1st or 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM at the Aumsville Community Center.

Can I attend a Planning Commission meeting? 

Yes, all Planning Commission meetings are open to the public. 

Can I call or email a Planning Commission member? 

The Planning Commission is a quasi-judicial body and as such is not allowed to discuss applications or decisions which may come before them prior to the official meeting. Contact City Staff with questions related to Planning and Land Use.  You can contact the City Administrator here.
