        Why did my usage go up?

        You would be surprised how much water a running toilet or drippy faucet can waste. By far a running toilet uses the most water a month, and is our most common culprit for over-usage.

        If you suspect you have a leak, first turn off all water inside and outside your house. Make sure no one flushes the toilet or uses faucets while you are checking. You can open your meter box and check to see if your meter is running. If your meter is running, you most likely have a leak.…

        How to report a leak

        If the leak is minor, call either City Hall or Public Works during normal business hours to report the leak. Public Works cannot work on water leaks on the customer side of the water meter. You will need to call a plumber to deal with leaks on the customer side of the water meter.

        After hours contact is only for major emergencies such as a broken water main. This number is police dispatch after hours, they will collect your information and contact Public Works. 

        Shut-offs will not be reconnected until the next business day. 

        For non-emergency concerns, call the regular Public Works number above and leave a message. Someone will contact you within two business days. 
        After hours non-emergency calls will be charged. See After Hours Call Out form in documents.
