WE CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT HELP!

The City of Aumsville has some wonderful volunteers who make phone calls each month to remind customers with delinquent accounts that their sewer and water bill must be paid by the shut-off deadline.  (This is always a welcome reminder.)  Without volunteers we do not have the staff to provide this monthly reminder service. Assistant Finance Officer Ruberry is looking for additional volunteers to assist in making these friendly telephone calls (about 2-3 hours per month).  The phone calls may be made from your home.  This takes place during the third week of each month (the night before shut-off day) and the volunteers take turns during the year making the calls each month.  Training will be provided.  We look forward to hearing from those interested in providing this reminder service!  To sign up as a volunteer call city hall at 503 749-2030.

We have one opening left on the Budget Committee.

Have you always wanted to serve your community but not for an entire year?  Well, here’s your chance.  The budget committee only meets for a few weeks on Tuesday evenings in the spring.

One position is still vacant and no previous experience is necessary.  We invite adult members of the city to serve a three-year term for 2012 to 2014.  To qualify, you must reside within the city, have resided for at least one year prior to the appointment, and not be a city official or employee.

The budget process begins in April and consists of weekly Tuesday meetings beginning at 7:00 PM.  These meetings last approximately four weeks, until the budget is approved. Budget committee members are appointed by Mayor White.  If you are interested, please submit a request to serve to Aumsville City Hall at 595 Main Street, 97325.
